Dr. Kang is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management.

Dr. Kang earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Biochemistry at Cornell University. He attended Downstate Medical Center once he attained his BA.  After graduating from Downstate Medical Center, he completed his internship in General Medicine at Yale-affiliate Greenwich Hospital in Connecticut.

Dr. Kang then underwent residency training in Anesthesiology at Columbia-St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan.  He obtained extensive training in nerve blocks and neuraxial anesthetic techniques. He went on to undergo sub-specialty fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt, where a busy practice allowed him to gain expertise in interventional procedures for managing a variety of painful conditions.

Dr. Kang has been the Associate Director of Pain Management at Staten Island University Hospital, and has been in private practice in the NY/NJ metropolitan area prior to joining AIPM. He is devoted to providing excellent care to his patients. Dr. Kang believes that with the new innovative technology currently out there, many pain syndromes can be alleviated, thus minimizing reliance on potentially addictive medications. A variety of procedures may be performed in our state-of-the-art facilities, with the utmost attention to each patient’s safety.

Dr. Kang’s particular interests include: Spine-related pain syndromes, sports- and occupational-related joint injuries and chronic pain. Dr. Kang is also an avid skier and golfer, and enjoys classical music.
